The law firm of Marc A. Zeve handles some domestic law cases in Ocean City, MD and surrounding areas. The only domestic law cases that we currently take are those that do not involve children. We'll handle any case in which there's already a signed separation agreement which does encompass the children; however, we will not be involved in any custody disputes.
Unfortunately, these cases drag on for years and years and are financially draining to the parties. We encourage every person that has one of these cases to request a mediation session with a certified mediator. Lawyers who practice family law and do custody cases oftentimes are unable to resolve these matters for years. And since the Court has continuing jurisdiction over the children, they seem to never end.
Our personal feeling about these cases is that no one is ever happy. If your case involves financial issues and no children, division of marital property such as homes, businesses, cars and personal property, we will be happy to discuss these matters with you. However, child custody cases are not handled by our office. We also do not do child support cases. We will however look at your case for no cost and direct you to a good local lawyer who we feel has fair fees, a focus on settlement and mediation and who will not want to line their own pockets with your hard earned money.
